Islamic scholar Dr. Mohamed Iyaz has said that issuing false charges and giving false testimony are the same as spreading false information.
Dr. Iyaz said this in a tweet on Friday in regards to the topic of Friday’s sermon.
The sermon stated that the religion of Islam calls on its adherents to avoid spreading false information.
It also stated that social media, radio, and TVs are being used to spread sensational reports, and advised listeners to validate claims before spreading news.
The sermon also stated that spreading false information is worse than murder.
