Computer scientist Professor Hassan Ugail, who in 2011 unveiled a system to detect facial profiles and expressions, will be assisting the presidential inquiry commission on ‘deaths and disappearances.
Lawyer Husnu Suood, who is heading the commission, announced this through a tweet on Tuesday, having previously said that they will be enlisting the assistance of multiple experts.

Earlier this week, the commission released an extract from a CCTV footage that allegedly shows men watching the late MP Afraasheem Ali before his murder in 2012.
Suood told the press in December that the commission will also be enlisting the assistance of experts from the US Federal Bureau of Investigations, specializing in long-term cases, audio-visual investigation, and forensics.
The ‘Commission on Investigation of Murder and Enforced Disappearances’ is also investigating 24 other cases, including the brutal stabbing of blogger Yameen Rasheed and the abduction of journalist Ahmed Rilwan.
It was at the press conference in December that Suood accused Criminal Court judges of colluding with local street gangs and allowed them to escape justice for severe crimes, ranging from assault to even murder.
Suood's allegations has instigated an investigation from the Judicial Services Commission, which formed a committee headed by Attorney General Ibrahim Riffath. Suood earlier this week spoke with the committee, and shared 'all information' he has on the matter, along with evidence.
Suood was also summoned for a Criminal Court hearing on Tuesday, which was to be held in secret, although it was later cancelled. The court has denounced Suood's allegations as an attempt to slander the bench and said that they will be looking into the allegations.
