State Minister Latheef of Sports Ministry abruptly dismissed from post

Abdul Latheef Ahmed (Udhares Latheef) has been dismissed from his post as State Minister for Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts.

Abdul Latheef previously served as a State Minister at the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts. However, following recent structural changes to government ministries where youth and sports mandates were separated into two distinct portfolios, he was reassigned as a State Minister at the Ministry of Sports, Fitness and Recreation. He was serving in this capacity at the time of his dismissal.

Abdul Latheef has previously served in various government positions. Notably, during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, he served as a member of the Clemency Board.
