Bangladesh requests Maldives to facilitate more opportunities for migrant workers

Humayun Kabir, the Foreign Affairs Advisor to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, has requested the Maldivian government to facilitate expanded employment opportunities for Bangladeshi nationals working in the Maldives.
Humayun Kabir made this request during a courtesy call paid by the High Commissioner of Maldives to Bangladesh, Shiuneen Rasheed, at the Prime Minister's Office in Tejgaon on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Bangladeshi media reports, the two officials engaged in extensive discussions regarding bilateral relations and various areas of mutual interest between the two nations.
Both officials highlighted the importance of strengthening bilateral ties, particularly in the areas of tourism, human resource development, and investment. Furthermore, they exchanged views on ways to enhance cooperation in these sectors for the mutual benefit of both nations.
Reports also indicate that during the meeting, Kabir requested that the Maldives expand employment opportunities for Bangladeshi nationals as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation in the field of human resources.
