Dhiggaru constituency MP Ahmed Faris Maumoon met with Malaysia’s Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamed on Friday.

The parliamentarian traveled to Malaysia on Thursday.

While details of the meeting have not been disclosed, Faris’ father and former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom revealed that the meeting took place, via twitter.

“It was a great honour and privilege,” added the former president.

MP Faris is expected to return to Maldives on Saturday.
