Amid increased reports of attempts to buy national identity cards ahead of the presidential elections, independent broadcaster RaajjeTV has decided to ‘reward those that come forward with credible information’.
The station’s chief operating officer, Hussain Fiyaz Moosa said that they have decided to reward those that come forward with credible information regarding those conducting such unlawful acts.
He said that the station believes that the media has a role in holding those conducting such unlawful acts accountable as it infringes upon a person’s right to vote. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the country’s democracy, to ensure that people are guaranteed such basic rights.
Noting that people can submit complaints till election day, Fiyaz appealed to those that have been made such offers or have any credible information, to contact RaajjeTV’s hotline number- 9110099- or send an email.
