A tornado has caused damage in Dh. Bandidhoo.

Island council member Mohamed Mamdhooh said that the incident occurred around 11am.

Mamdhooh said that the roofs of two buildings were torn off and that the rain had damaged the furniture and equipment inside.

“Around 10 trees have been uprooted, which include breadfruit and coconut trees.”

He also said that furniture and equipment in other houses have also been affected by rain and that they are currently estimating the damages.

Bandidhoo has a population of 900.
