Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has begun work to refloat a fishing boat that ran aground a reef patch in Meemu atoll on Wednesday.

According to MNDF, the boat named “Aailaa” had run aground a reef patch near Meemu atoll Raabidhi Huraa island and had been reported at around 07:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening.

MNDF also revealed that 12 had been onboard at the time of the incident and that none had been injured in the incident.

RaajjeMV understands that MNDF is working to refloat the vessel which had attained damages to the dock.
