First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim has urged husbands to be more like President Abdulla Yameen.

At a ruling party event in Fuvahmulah on Friday night, the First Lady said that even as a mother with three children and as a grandmother, she is able to be politically active because of the opportunity provided by her husband, President Yameen.

The First Lady said that President Yameen plays a large role in developing the nation and upholding Islamic values as well as providing citizens basic services, and that the progress brought on by President Yameen’s administration can only continue if he is re-elected for a second term.

She added that people need to come out to make sure that the nation keeps moving forward.

The First Lady, who usually don’t speak at political events, thanked President Yameen at Friday night’s event.
