A number of cafés at the ‘harbour’ food courts in Maafannu of capital city Malé are to open in April, the Housing Minister has revealed.

Housing Minister Mohamed Muizzu said in a post on Twitter account that the café towards one side of the court would open in April while those on the other side are to open in May.

Cafés towards Ameeneemagu are to open in April while those towards Izzudeen Magu are to open in May.

The court has room for over thirteen cafés, newly developed by a company operated by the military, and have all been finished.

The State Trading Organization has attested to having delays in the project, reportedly due to problems involving floor-planning and design.

However, the organization in January called for those interested in investing at the food court to begin bidding
