STO opens bidding process for Malé ‘harbour’ food court

STO said that the company wants cafés at the court to be operational in January

Bidding for the court was opened last month as well, but closed due to 'lack of support'

The State Trading Organization has opened cafés at the food court behind the harbor in Maafannu of capital city Malé for bidding.

A senior official at the organization said on Thursday that they opened bidding last month as well, which was closed due to ‘lack of support’.

The official further said that process is ongoing again and that ideally, outlets at the court will start serving within January.

The court has room for thirteen cafés, newly developed a company operated by the military, have all been finished but are yet to be furnished.

The State Trading Organization has attested to having delays in the project, reportedly due to problems involving floor-planning and design.

However, the organization's call for bidding is yet to appear on the government’s gazette, at the time of publishing.
