A teenager was killed in an accident in Fuvahmulah City on Monday.

A police spokesperson informed that the accident occurred near Fuvahmulah Airport, with two motorcycles crashing into each other. It was reported to them at around 7:15 pm.

Police confirmed that a 17-year-old male had passed away after suffering grave injuries in the accident, but did not reveal any further details on him.

In addition to the deceased, two individuals, also males, were injured in the accident.

Noting that both were in serious condition, police said that they- a 16-year-old and a 19-year-old- are both being treated at hospital.

It is unclear whether the drivers possessed the required license to operate a vehicle.
