Highlighting the President's failure to remain accountable to the media regarding the Ras Male' project, Shamau noted that the recent signing of the project agreement during a ceremony in Dubai lacked any semblance of transparency or public oversight.

The Deputy Chairperson of the MDP’s Public Protection Committee, Shamaau Shareef, has alleged that the government is executing major projects in secrecy without public announcement to facilitate corruption and illicit activities.
Speaking during RaajjeTV’s "Dhivehinge Bin Dhivehinnah" coverage, Shamau stated that the major projects and initiatives undertaken by the current administration are being carried out without any public announcement, alleging that everything is being conducted in secrecy. He asserted that such methods are employed because these dealings involve corruption and criminal activity. He further noted that the Ras Male' project is one such example.
To put it bluntly, what is Saleem trying to do in secret? It is theft—plain and simple. These crimes are being committed under the cover of darkness because that is how theft is carried out. Therefore, regarding the events unfolding today, I must emphasize that there has been no public announcement or transparency in any of the actions taken.Shamau Shareef
Furthermore, Shamau noted that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu—who typically maintains a close relationship with the media and even established a large hall specifically for press conferences—has not granted any interviews regarding this matter. He suggested that the silence stems from a multitude of hidden complexities surrounding the issue.
Shamau noted that the government has been deploying various ministers to defend the Ras Male' project. However, he pointed out that during the signing ceremony for this massive undertaking, no cabinet members were present except for Housing Minister Dr. Ali Haidar Ahmed, who had to attend the event alone. Shamau asserted that this isolation serves as clear evidence of the corruption surrounding the project.
