The Maldives Zakat House has announced the panelists for the second session of the International Zakat Conference (INZEC 2026).
According to the Maldives Zakat House, the session, titled "Foundations of Resilience: Cross-Sectoral Collaboration and Integrated Solutions," will feature representatives from Zakat institutions, the technology sector, social services, and the private sector.
During this session, discussions will focus on ways to further strengthen the support provided to individuals and families in need through collaborative efforts.
The panel featured Sheikh Imthithau Abbas, Director General of the Maldives Zakat House; Mohamed Arshad, Head of Digital Solutions at MindCo; Abdulla Ashraf, Social Services Coordinator at the Ministry of Health, Family and Welfare; and Hassan Shamam, Vice President of the Maldives National Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
This session will explore the importance of moving away from fragmented institutional efforts toward establishing a robust national framework. This system aims to integrate Zakat and other Islamic social finance initiatives with government social protection programs, digital tools, and private sector contributions. Furthermore, discussions will focus on how such collaborative efforts can address the diverse needs of beneficiaries and create pathways toward achieving long-term financial independence.
The Zakat House stated that these discussions, which bring together the perspectives of experts from various fields, will provide an opportunity to strengthen inter-institutional cooperation and establish a unified approach to resource management. Furthermore, the initiative aims to explore sustainable methods to empower aid recipients, transitioning them from financial dependency toward economic self-sufficiency.
INZEC 2026 is scheduled to take place on October 28, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Islamic Centre in Malé City.
