Zakat al-Fitr collection in the form of food grains is set to begin this Saturday in the Greater Male' Area
Zakat al-Fitr contributions in the form of food grains will be accepted at the CHSE Hall in the Male' area this Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, and on Monday, March 16, during the morning session and from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Donors are required to provide 2.4 kg per person of staples such as regular rice, basmati rice, or flour, though arrangements have also been made for those who prefer to pay their Zakat online.

The Maldives Zakat House has announced that the opportunity to pay Zakat al-Fitr in the form of food grains within the Male' area will open this coming Saturday.
The Maldives Zakat House has announced that Zakat al-Fitr contributions in the form of food grains will be accepted in the Greater Male’ area from this coming Saturday through Wednesday.
Accordingly, Zakat al-Fitr contributions in the form of food grains will be accepted on Saturday, March 15, and Sunday, March 16, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The Zakat House further stated that on Monday, March 17, contributions will be accepted during two sessions: from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, and from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
The collection of Fitr Zakat in the form of food grains will be conducted at the CHSE Hall.
Fitr Zakat shall be paid at a rate of 2.4 kilograms per person, in the form of the staple grain most commonly consumed by the individual.
The collection of Zakat al-Fitr in the form of food grains will include regular rice, Thailand rice, basmati rice, red rice, wheat flour, and atta flour.
Furthermore, the Maldives Zakat House is currently accepting Zakat payments online through seven different platforms. According to the Zakat House, more than MVR 5 million was collected as Fitr Zakat by the 15th day of Ramadan.
The payment of Zakat al-Fitr is an obligatory duty upon every Muslim.
