Maduvvari North Harbor, noting that several areas of the facility have already begun to deteriorate. Criticizing the unfinished MTCC worksite, he further alleged that the project was a performative gesture launched solely to gain political leverage ahead of the elections.

Moosa Ali Manik (Mookey), the former Managing Director of RDC and the MDP National Congress President for the Maduvvari constituency, has expressed concern over the lack of progress on the R. Maduvvari north harbor project, stating it is not proceeding as promised by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
Speaking on RaajjeTV’s "Vaudhunaama" program, Moosa stated that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu had pledged to redevelop the old harbor in Maduvvari. He further noted that the project was initiated to coincide with the council elections.
However, Moosa stated that the harbor had been damaged under the guise of constructing a boundary wall. He further noted that the MTCC work site remains incomplete, with the fencing unfinished and the meter board left exposed to the rain.
During the council elections, an excavator arrived on our island, much like the "famous campaign manager" that traveled across the Maldives during that period. It proceeded to tear up various areas under the guise of constructing boundary walls, doing whatever it could just for the sake of the election. MTCC's site is located in an area where our local fishermen, who are the backbone of our community, process and dry their catch. They usually maintain their own shelters much better than this. We are talking about MTCC, a major corporation, yet if you look at the structure they built, only half of it is covered with roofing sheets. It is as if they ran out of tin. Even the electricity meter board has been left exposed to the rain.Moosa Alimanik (Mookey)
Moosa stated that despite the current condition of the MTCC worksite, supervisors have been hired there as salaried employees.
The project to develop the north harbor of R. Maduvvari has been contracted to the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).
According to the Ministry of Housing, Land and Urban Infrastructure, the scope of this project includes dredging 11,609 cubic meters for the harbor basin and entrance channel, as well as the demolition of 308 meters of the existing quay wall. The project further involves the construction of a new 308-meter quay wall, an 184-meter breakwater, and 25 meters of revetment. Additionally, the works will include the installation of 1,550 square meters of harbor pavement and the integration of a harbor lighting system.
The project for the development of Maduvvari North Harbor has been awarded to MTCC for MVR 45.78 million, with a completion deadline of 360 days.
