This software was introduced and launched by the Traffic Investigation Function, operating under the Traffic Police and Road Management department.
"Smart Draw" is a user-friendly software specifically designed to easily create diagrams and sketches of accident scenes.
Police stated that the software features pre-designed layouts for various road configurations, including intersections, T-junctions, and straight roads.
Furthermore, police stated that the software includes ready-made symbols for various types of vehicles, motorcycles, traffic signs, streetlights, and other essential elements required for investigations. The police also noted that the software allows for the integration of Google Maps and satellite imagery to create diagrams, ensuring that accident scenes are depicted with the highest level of accuracy and detail.
Police stated that this is a significant step toward modernizing road accident investigation procedures, enhancing the quality of investigative reports, strengthening evidence documentation, and streamlining operational efficiency.
The police service stated that extensive efforts are underway to introduce modern technology and new resources aimed at further strengthening policing services across the Maldives.
While "Smart Draw" software has been introduced to modernize and strengthen accident investigations, the frequency of road accidents has surged significantly across the Maldives.
