Police: Motorcyclist Injured in Market Collision Not Seriously Hurt

Police have confirmed that a Maldivian man injured in a collision between two motorcycles on Boduthakurufaanu Magu in the local market area on Monday night did not sustain any serious injuries.
According to the police, the accident was reported at approximately 22:14 on the night of October 5, 2026.
A 19-year-old Maldivian male was transported to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for treatment following injuries sustained in the incident. However, police have confirmed that his injuries are not life-threatening.
According to the police, the other motorcycle involved in the accident was operated by a Bangladeshi national. Authorities further confirmed that the individual did not possess a valid driving license.
Police are currently conducting a further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
