Weather conditions have deteriorated across the Maldives, with several regions experiencing heavy rainfall and strong winds. The Maldives Meteorological Service stated that unsettled weather is expected to persist across various parts of the country until Saturday morning. The office further forecasted heavy rain and thunderstorms for some islands.
The agency stated that winds are expected to prevail from the south and southwest at speeds between 5 and 15 miles per hour, with seas anticipated to remain slight.
The Maldives Meteorological Service has forecasted wave heights between 2 and 4 feet, urging the public to remain vigilant regarding the prevailing weather conditions. The office further advised seafarers to exercise particular caution during travel.
