PG Office: Police Yet to Resubmit Eesha Case After Investigation Advice

The Prosecutor General’s Office has stated that it has advised the police to complete their investigation into Aishath Eesha Ashraf, who was summoned for questioning regarding the "Aisha Documentary" published on Adhadhu news’ social media platforms.

Eesha, who has held various positions at the President's Office and within the government, was summoned by the police on suspicion of involvement in a documentary titled "Aisha." The documentary, which allegedly defames President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, was shared on the X account of Adhadhu Online on March 28, 2026.

In response to an inquiry from RaajjeMV regarding the matter, the Prosecutor General’s Office stated that they have instructed the police to complete further investigative requirements. The office further noted that a final decision on whether to press charges will be made once the investigation is finalized in accordance with their instructions and the case is resubmitted.

Despite inquiries for an update on the matter, the police have yet to provide a response.

Police have previously questioned the CEO of Adhadhu, Hussain Fiyaz Moosa, along with the outlet’s editor, Hassan Mohamed, in connection with this case. Defamation charges have now been formally filed against both individuals.

In a recent social media post, Aisha revealed that a government minister called and threatened her a month before the news outlet Adhadhu released its documentary "Aisha." However, she did not disclose the identity of the minister involved.
