Statistics reveal that the number of cases scheduled at the Criminal Court has nearly doubled since its operations were relocated to a new building in June 2024. This significant increase in judicial proceedings follows the transition to the new facility, where hearings are now being conducted.

The Prosecutor General’s Office noted that these changes have accelerated the resolution of court cases and brought significant advancements to the operations of the judicial system.

According to the statistics released by the Prosecutor General’s Office for August, the office received a total of 222 cases during the month.

Furthermore, the Prosecutor General's Office provided legal guidance on 729 cases under its duty prosecution mechanism, assisting investigative agencies during the criminal investigation stage.

According to statistics released by the Prosecutor General’s Office, the state filed charges in 330 cases involving various offenses during the month of August. The data further reveals that state prosecutors attended a total of 1,205 court hearings scheduled throughout the month.

The Criminal Court previously operated under extremely challenging conditions, within a facility plagued by structural safety concerns. However, following the relocation to a new building in June 2024, the court has secured adequate space for judicial proceedings, enabling multiple sections to conduct hearings simultaneously.

The Prosecutor General’s Office anticipates that this advancement will significantly alleviate the backlog of pending cases in the courts. Legal experts noted that doubling the number of scheduled hearings, particularly at the Criminal Court, will play a crucial role in expediting the judicial process and the delivery of justice.
