Jameel: Muizzu’s Party Leaders Would Be in Prison If Criminals Were Punished Regardless of Political Affiliation

Questioning the President's integrity amid allegations of embezzlement and corruption, Dr. Jameel further predicted that President Muizzu would fail to secure a second term in the 2028 elections.

Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed has stated that if punishments were meted out to offenders regardless of their political affiliation, the top leadership of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s party would be in prison today.
Dr. Jameel has advised President Muizzu to refrain from making promises that he is unable to fulfill.
"Do not speak of things you are incapable of achieving. If you were to punish offenders without political bias, the top leadership of your own party would be behind bars today," Dr. Jameel stated in a post on X.
Dr. Jameel’s criticism of President Dr. Muizzu comes amid growing public concern over the government’s failure to prosecute individuals implicated in numerous high-profile corruption scandals. Observers have noted that despite mounting evidence of graft within the administration, no legal action has been taken against those accused. Furthermore, the current administration has been accused of negligence regarding critical investigations conducted by the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of the Maldives Monetary Authority. These significant financial probes have reportedly been sidelined or ignored by the government.
"Is there anyone among you who has not benefited from Bro's hand? Has anyone been punished for that corruption and theft?" Dr. Jameel asked, referring to those who allegedly received illicit gains from former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb.
"I suggest you choose the following Hadith Qudsi as this week's theme for the remembrance board," the statement read.

Sharply criticizing President Dr. Muizzu, Dr. Jameel further asserted that regardless of any political calculations, by the will of God, an individual named Dr. Muizzu will not be taking the presidential oath of office in 2028.
"Your character and true nature are crystal clear to the entire nation. We stand against you with unwavering resolve and absolute determination!"
Furthermore, former President Yameen recently characterized several individuals within President Dr. Muizzu's inner circle as "royal thieves." President Yameen called upon President Dr. Muizzu to investigate these high-ranking "thieves" currently serving in his administration who were implicated in the MMPRC corruption scandal.
