Former Deputy Minister of Youth, Ahmed Nizam, appointed to STELCO Board

Ahmed Nizam, the newly appointed board member of STELCO, previously served as a Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Youth and held a distinguished career within the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Coast Guard.

Former Deputy Minister of Youth Ahmed Nizam appointed to STELCO Board. | PCB

Ahmed Nizam has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the State Electric Company Limited (STELCO).

The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) announced in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that Ahmed Nizam, of Asareege, Dh. Meedhoo, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of STELCO, effective from September 20, 2026.

Nizam served as a Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Youth during the early stages of the current administration.

Furthermore, Nizam served in the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Coast Guard. During his tenure, he worked as a diver for the Coast Guard fleet and served as a corporal aboard the Coast Guard vessel 'Ghaazi.'

Nizam earned his Bachelor of Laws (Shari'ah and Law) from Villa College. He also holds postgraduate qualifications in the same field.
