The former President of the MDP, Abdulla Shahid, and his campaign team have been accorded a warm welcome upon their arrival in K. Maafushi.
Abdulla Shahid has officially launched his campaign activities after resigning from his position as President of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) to contest the party's presidential primary. As part of these efforts, Shahid and his campaign team traveled to Guraidhoo on Saturday afternoon.
Accompanying Shahid on the visit were the MDP Parliamentary Group Leader and Member of Parliament for Hithadhoo South constituency, Ibrahim Nazil, along with several other senior officials from the party's leadership.
Shahid and his team were accorded a warm welcome upon their arrival in Guraidhoo, where he is scheduled to meet with members of the MDP during the visit.
As part of his campaign for the MDP presidential primary, Shahid has appealed to all general members of the party for their support and votes. He further pledged to be a leader for all party members, assuring them that he is someone who can embrace and work with diverse perspectives while guaranteeing the delivery of results.
Furthermore, Shahid stated that he would prioritize and protect the national interest and welfare, ensuring a simple administration that provides fair and equal opportunities for all Maldivian citizens.
