In a message shared with the media, police stated that a 36-year-old Maldivian man and a 25-year-old Maldivian woman were arrested under a court order on September 18, 2026. The arrests follow allegations of engaging in indecent behavior on the balcony of a Hiyaa Tower apartment on August 27, 2026.
Police stated that the individuals were brought before the court to determine their detention status, resulting in a court order to remand them for five days. Authorities further confirmed that the investigation into the matter is ongoing.
