Man remanded for 15 days in hit-and-run case

Faresmaathoda after he allegedly struck a traffic officer with his motorcycle at the intersection of Majeedhee Magu and Chaandhanee Magu before attempting to flee the scene. Although the officer did not sustain serious injuries in the incident, the court has remanded the suspect in custody for 15 days and authorities have impounded the motorcycle involved.

A man who attempted to flee after hitting an on-duty police officer with a motorcycle has been arrested and remanded in custody for 15 days.
Police have reported that a motorcyclist attempted to flee after intentionally striking a traffic officer on duty at the intersection of Chaandhanee Magu and Majeedhee Magu around 5:34 p.m. on Friday.
Police stated that although the officer sustained injuries in the incident, they were not serious. Authorities have arrested 23-year-old Saain Abdul Gayoom, of Hathi, GDh. Faresmaathodaa, on allegations of attempting to flee after striking the officer with his motorcycle.
Police stated that when the suspect was produced before the court to determine their detention status, the court ordered them to be remanded for 15 days. Authorities further confirmed that the motorcycle involved in the incident has been impounded. The police added that the case is currently under further investigation.
