Seven foreigners have been detained for working illegally in salons and spas across Hulhumale'.
In a post on X on Tuesday, Maldives Immigration announced that a special inspection was conducted on Monday targeting salons and spa facilities in Hulhumale'.
Maldives Immigration reported that a total of eight locations were inspected during this operation, with the documentation of 26 expatriates working at these premises being verified. According to authorities, seven expatriates found to be working in violation of regulations were taken into custody during the crackdown.
Furthermore, Immigration authorities conducted inspections of illegally operated cafes on September 7, resulting in the detention of two individuals. Additionally, during an operation across the Male' area on the 4th of this month, 426 expatriates were screened, with 13 individuals subsequently taken into immigration custody.
