Yasir becomes the third individual to lead the corporation under the current administration, taking over at a time when MMPRC faces significant challenges, including a deteriorating financial situation and a shortage of experienced staff.

Abdulla Yasir has been appointed as the Managing Director of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) / Visit Maldives.
He was appointed to the position following the resignation of Ibrahim Shiuree. With this appointment, Yasir becomes the third Managing Director to serve in the role under the current administration. The government’s initial appointee to the post was Fathimath Thaufeeq.
The financial situation of Visit Maldives has deteriorated significantly since the current administration took office. Former MMPRC board member Abdulla Suood told RaajjeMV that this decline was reportedly caused by the Ministry of Finance withholding necessary funds.
He further noted that the shortage of experienced staff remains a significant challenge facing the MMPRC.
