Shiuree, who assumed the role in June, announced his departure during a meeting with staff but did not disclose a specific reason for his resignation.

Ibrahim Shiuree has resigned from his position as the Managing Director of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC).
RaajjeMV has confirmed this development. According to information shared with RaajjeMV by a reliable source, he announced his resignation following a meeting with staff. However, the reason for his departure has not been disclosed.
Shiury was appointed as the Managing Director of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) on June 13, 2024. Prior to this appointment, he served as a member of the steering committee for the World Bank's "Enhancing Employability and Resilience of Youth" project.
Prior to his appointment as the Managing Director of MMPRC, Shiury served as the Vice President of the Table Tennis Association.
Since this administration assumed office, the financial situation of MMPRC has significantly deteriorated. According to former MMPRC board member Abdulla Suood in an interview with RaajjeMV, this decline is reportedly due to the Ministry of Finance withholding necessary funds. Additionally, he noted that a shortage of experienced staff remains a persistent challenge for the corporation.
Suood stated that the primary cause of MMPRC's financial loss is the Managing Director, Ibrahim Shiuree, and the Chairman.
