The Maldives Meteorological Service has advised the public, particularly those traveling in central and southern atolls, to exercise caution and take necessary safety measures as sea conditions are expected to be moderately rough.

The Maldives Meteorological Service has forecasted deteriorating weather conditions across the entire country over the next 24 hours, warning that seas are expected to become rough during squalls.
The Maldives Meteorological Service has announced that scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected across various regions from 10:00 a.m. Friday to 10:00 a.m. Saturday, with heavy rainfall likely in some islands. The department further stated that winds are expected to prevail from the southwest and west at speeds between 5 and 15 mph. However, wind speeds could gust up to approximately 35 mph during showers.
The Maldives Meteorological Service stated that seas are expected to be slight to moderate, becoming moderately rough during squalls. Wave heights are forecasted to remain between 2 and 4 feet.
Authorities have urged the public to exercise heightened caution due to deteriorating weather conditions across the country. Residents in the central and southern atolls, in particular, are advised to remain vigilant.
