The Maldives Meteorological Service has forecast deteriorating weather conditions across the country over the next 24 hours, with wind speeds expected to reach 35 mph during squalls and seas remaining rough. While F. Bileffahi recorded the highest rainfall in the past 24 hours, military personnel have been deployed to drain floodwaters in Male' and several other islands severely affected by heavy downpours.

The Maldives Meteorological Service has forecasted continued adverse weather conditions for Wednesday, with heavy rainfall expected across various parts of the country.

The Meteorological Service has announced that widespread rain is expected across the Maldives over the next 24 hours, with thunderstorms likely in some areas. Winds are expected to prevail in the southern atolls at speeds between 5 and 15 miles per hour.

The department stated that wind speeds in other areas are expected to range between 8 and 18 mph, with gusts potentially reaching approximately 35 mph during squalls. Seas are expected to be slight to moderate in the southern atolls, becoming moderately rough during squalls. However, central and northern atolls will experience moderate seas, which are forecasted to become rough during squally weather.

The Meteorological Service stated that wave heights in the southern atolls are expected to range between 2 and 4 feet, while the northern and central regions are anticipated to experience wave heights between 3 and 6 feet.

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has carried out operations to drain floodwaters following heavy rainfall across Malé and various parts of the country. According to the Maldives Meteorological Service, Bilehdhoo in Faafu Atoll recorded the highest rainfall over the past 24 hours, with 48.6 millimeters of rain.
