Fire at H. Fahivai: Four individuals provided with temporary housing

Fahivaage last night. While a police officer sustained injuries during the incident, authorities have successfully extinguished the blaze and declared the remaining floors of the building safe for occupancy.
Although smoke affected several floors of the building following the incident, it did not sustain any major damage that would render it uninhabitable. | MNDF
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has announced that temporary housing has been provided to four individuals following a fire on the seventh floor of H. Fahivai.
Upon receiving reports of the incident at 08:46 p.m. on Friday night, firefighters from the Male' Fire Station were immediately dispatched to the scene to combat the blaze, according to the MNDF Fire and Rescue Service.
The MNDF stated that firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze at approximately 9:25 p.m. on Friday night.
The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) stated that while a police officer sustained hand injuries from shattered glass while attempting to access the building's terrace, no other injuries have been reported. The MNDF further noted that the floor sustained significant damage in the incident, with various household items and appliances damaged to varying degrees.
Providing an update on the situation, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) stated that it has arranged temporary housing and meals for a period of five days for four Maldivians—three women and one man—who reside in a three-bedroom apartment on the seventh floor of the building where the incident occurred.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) stated that while smoke had spread to several floors of the building during the incident, no structural damage occurred that would render the premises uninhabitable. The authority further confirmed that the smoke has since been completely cleared from the affected floors.
