Firefighters from the Lh. Naifaru Fire Station were deployed to extinguish a blaze that broke out at the island's waste disposal site late Thursday evening.
The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has confirmed that firefighters from the Naifaru Fire Station, under the MNDF Northern Area Command, have successfully extinguished a fire that broke out at the waste disposal site in N. Velidhoo.
According to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), the report of the incident was received by the Naifaru Fire Station under the MNDF Northern Area Command at approximately 17:50 on Thursday. Firefighters from the station were immediately dispatched to N. Velidhoo to carry out firefighting operations. Through the efforts of the firefighting team, the blaze was successfully extinguished at approximately 06:00 this morning.
No injuries have been reported in connection with this incident.
