Fire extinguished on boat off Gulhifalhu: No injuries reported, engine room severely damaged
MNDF firefighters have successfully extinguished a fire that broke out this afternoon in the engine room of the vessel "Oxon Carrier 2" near Gulhifalhu. All five crew members on board at the time were safely evacuated to another vessel and no injuries were reported, though the engine room sustained significant damage in the incident.

Firefighters from the MNDF Male’ Area Command’s Hulhumale’ Fire Station have successfully extinguished a fire that broke out on a vessel named "Oxon Carrier 2" outside the Gulhifalhu channel.
Briefing the media, the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) stated that the Fire and Rescue Service received the report of the incident at approximately 13:22 on Saturday afternoon.
Upon receiving reports of the incident, firefighters from the MNDF Male’ Area Command’s Hulhumalé Fire Station were immediately dispatched to the scene. Through the efforts of the responding firefighters, the blaze that broke out in the vessel's engine room was successfully extinguished at approximately 14:45 on Saturday.
The five individuals on board at the time of the incident managed to move to another vessel and reach safety. While no injuries were reported, the vessel's engine room sustained extensive damage.
