Several vehicles and commercial establishments in Malé have sustained damage following a tidal surge that struck the capital.
In a message to the media, the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) stated that severe tidal swells hit Male' on Sunday, causing flooding in several areas and resulting in damage to a number of vehicles.
The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has stated that its personnel are currently working to pump out floodwaters. The MNDF further noted that services at several cafes have been disrupted due to water entering the premises.

Severe tidal flooding affected several areas of Male' on Sunday, causing significant disruptions. Among the impacted locations were several cafes in the Carnival area, which sustained damage due to the surging waves. In addition to the coastal impact, the Industrial Zone also experienced flooding, resulting in a large accumulation of debris and waste along Boduthakurufaanu Magu.
