The Male' City Council decided today to provide free venue space for island councils wishing to hold meetings with their constituents residing in the capital city.
Presenting the proposal during a council meeting, Mayor Adam Azim stated that while residents from across the country live in the Male' region, island councils face significant challenges in securing adequate space when they wish to meet with their respective constituents.
Mayor Azim highlighted that providing this opportunity will further strengthen the relationship between island councils and their respective constituents. Furthermore, Azim stated that in addition to providing council-managed venues free of charge, arranging refreshments such as tea for these meetings is a significant step toward establishing Male' as a model city for hospitality.
Mayor Azim's proposal was passed unanimously today, receiving the full support of all council members present at the meeting.
According to the Male' City Council, this decision will further strengthen the relationship between island councils and the city council. It will also provide significant ease for local councils to communicate and foster closer ties with residents living in the capital.
Furthermore, the Male' City Council has recently decided to provide free venue space for newlyweds in the city to host their wedding receptions.
