President to Re-establish Two Special Advisory Councils!

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has decided to establish two special advisory councils to provide guidance on strengthening national governance and ensuring the country is managed through a comprehensive, holistic framework.

These two bodies are the "Special Advisory Council to the President" and the "National Council."

Speaking at the official Independence Day ceremony, President Muizzu announced the formation of a Special Advisory Council. He stated that this council is designed to harness the expertise of senior citizens who have served the state for many years and have been recognized with national honors. The President further explained that a National Council will also be established, comprising professionals with extensive experience across various sectors, including education, healthcare, economy, and social affairs.

Furthermore, he stated that these two councils would be established and finalized within the next three months, by the end of November.

The objective is to provide an opportunity for consultation on national issues, ensuring that the government functions effectively and that the country is governed with integrity. God willing, I expect both councils to be established and fully formed within the next three months, ahead of November. It is my hope and belief that this will be achieved. Once established, these councils will provide highly experienced and technical experts with the opportunity to offer their insights and advice on national matters through a formal, institutionalized framework.

While the President has decided to re-establish two special advisory councils, he has already appointed numerous advisors to provide counsel across various sectors.

Highlighting ongoing efforts to empower youth and women, President Muizzu announced the decision to establish a "Youth Parliament" aimed at increasing youth participation. He stated that this parliament would consist of elected young representatives, ensuring representation for all constituencies of the People's Majlis.

Furthermore, the President stated that constitutional amendments would be proposed in the future to reserve a specific percentage of parliamentary seats for youth and women. President Muizzu noted that the objective of these reforms is to ensure permanent opportunities for youth and women in the nation's decision-making processes.

President Muizzu stated that the government is working to facilitate special loan opportunities aimed at the economic empowerment of youth and women.
