Flag-hoisting ceremony held to mark Maldives' 61st Independence Day

The event featured the official raising of the national flag followed by a special prayer, concluding with the national anthem performed by the Maldives National Defence Force brass band.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed have attended the special flag-hoisting ceremony held to mark the Maldives' 61st Independence Day.
The special flag-hoisting ceremony to mark Independence Day was held at Republic Square at 6:00 AM on Sunday.
The President and First Lady were joined at the ceremony by Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef and other senior government officials.
In addition to the hoisting of the national flag, this special Independence Day ceremony featured a dedicated prayer to mark the occasion. The ceremony concluded with the national anthem, performed by the Maldives National Defence Force brass band.
The Maldives celebrates its Independence Day annually on the 26th of July. The nation achieved full independence on July 26, 1965.
