On the occasion of the Maldives' proud Independence Day, President Muizzu extended his sincere greetings to the beloved citizens of the Maldives. In a post on X, the President commemorated the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the nation's independence and offered prayers in their honor.

In his message, the President emphasized that the most significant responsibility facing the Maldivian people today is to safeguard the independence secured through the sacrifices of their ancestors. He underscored that prioritizing patriotism to fulfill this vital duty is a responsibility incumbent upon every citizen.

Furthermore, President Muizzu highlighted the importance of enhancing the capabilities of the youth and maintaining a sense of national pride to safeguard the country's independence. He also stated that fostering strong social cohesion is vital for the long-term preservation of sovereignty.

He accused these entities of operating a "medicine mafia" and alleged that private businessmen are responsible for the current challenges in dollar liquidity.
