Independence Day Guest of Honor Calls on President Muizzu

The meeting focused on expanding cooperation in trade and economic sectors, during which the President also expressed his gratitude for the continuous support provided by the Saudi government to the Maldives.

His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Mansour bin Mutaib bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Minister of State, and Member of the Council of Ministers of Saudi Arabia, has paid a courtesy call on President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the President’s Office has announced. The meeting took place at the President’s Office on Saturday.
The President's Office stated that Prince Dr. Mansour bin Mutaib is visiting the Maldives as the guest of honor for the official celebrations marking the country's 61st Independence Day. His Royal Highness is attending the ceremony at the invitation of President Dr. Muizzu, representing the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Prince Dr. Mansour bin Mutaib bin Abdulaziz Al Saud was accorded an official ceremonial welcome upon his arrival in Male'.
During the meeting, the President extended a warm welcome to Prince Dr. Mansour and expressed his gratitude to the Saudi leadership for accepting the invitation to participate in the Independence Day celebrations. He further conveyed his appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s ongoing support to the Maldives, highlighting the assistance provided under the "Makkah Route Initiative" to facilitate travel for Maldivian Hajj pilgrims. In his remarks, Prince Dr. Mansour emphasized the special priority the Saudi leadership consistently accords to the development and prosperity of the Maldives.
The President's Office stated that the meeting focused primarily on the long-standing fraternal ties between the two nations, rooted in religious unity, mutual respect, and shared values. Discussions also centered on further strengthening bilateral relations. Furthermore, the President's Office noted that the two leaders explored opportunities to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, economic development, and other areas of mutual interest.
