In recognition of their long-standing service to the state, 66 individuals have been honored with commemorative badges, shields, and certificates of appreciation.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu conferred honors upon the recipients during the official ceremony held this morning at the Social Centre to mark the Maldives' 61st Independence Day.
The President's Office stated that today's recipients of the honorary badges, shields, and certificates include individuals who have served the state for over 41 years but had not previously received such recognition.
Following the President's decision to honor these long-serving officials, their records were compiled by the President's Office and forwarded to the National Awards Committee. The committee subsequently reviewed the documentation and conducted interviews with the candidates to ensure they met the eligibility criteria for the award.
