Former Member of Parliament for the Maduvvari constituency, Mohamed Ameeth, has expressed serious concern over the current administration's failure to operationalize the water and sewerage system in GDh. Vaadhoo, despite the project being completed during President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's administration.
Speaking on RaajjeTV’s "Vaudhunaama" program, Ameeth stated that the current administration has significantly hindered the development of Vaadhoo.
Ameeth stated that the water and sewerage project in Vaadhoo had been fully completed by the time the MDP administration ended and the government changed following the presidential election. However, he noted that the current administration has yet to commence services, leaving the residents of Vaadhoo deprived of essential water and sewerage facilities. He further emphasized that this remains a matter of significant concern.
Over the past three years and up to this day, the residents of Vaadhoo have remained deprived of essential water and sewerage services. The commencement of these services has been stalled for three years. The delay has been attributed to the unavailability of a necessary pump, leaving the community waiting for years. Despite the projects being fully completed during the MDP administration, the government has failed to provide these two vital services to the people.Mohamed Ameeth
Furthermore, Ameeth highlighted the current status of other ongoing projects in Vaadhoo.
Ameeth stated that work on the Vaadhoo Police Station has stalled, noting that only a single pillar has been erected over the past three years. He further highlighted that construction on the Vaadhoo School multipurpose hall and the extension building for the local health center has also come to a standstill.
Referring to the powerhouse building in Vaadhoo, Ameeth stated that 70 percent of the construction had been completed during the previous administration. However, he noted that under the current government, the building has been left to fall into ruin.
Ameeth stated that there is no hope for projects to proceed under the current administration, asserting that President Muizzu is a leader who fails to fulfill his promises.
