The Naivaadhoo Island Council has expressed deep concern over the abrupt suspension of the island's harbor expansion project and the unauthorized removal of heavy machinery from the site. While the council is currently engaging with relevant authorities to clarify the reasons behind the work stoppage, they remain committed to seeking an urgent resolution to the harbor difficulties facing the local community.

The Naivaadhoo Island Council has expressed concern over the abrupt suspension of the harbor expansion and breakwater construction project initiated during the previous administration, following the unauthorized removal of machinery from the site.
Naivaadhoo Council informed RaajjeTV that this is a vital project initiated by the previous administration to expand the harbor's capacity and install rock boulders for the breakwater. However, the council noted that all work on the project has now come to a complete standstill.
The council further stated that the machinery brought to the island for the harbor project has now been removed. The council raised concerns over the matter, noting that they were not notified of the removal and are currently unaware of the equipment's whereabouts.
The council is currently engaging with relevant government authorities to address the difficulties faced by residents due to the project's suspension. According to the council, efforts are underway to clarify the reasons behind the project's stagnation and to obtain details regarding the future work schedule.
