Under this administration, Gadhdhoo has only received a dinghy jetty, while all other projects remain stalled: Ameeth
Former Member of Parliament Ahmed Ameeth has criticized the current administration for neglecting its pledges and halting several development projects initiated by the previous government in GDh. Gadhdhoo. Highlighting the suspension of key infrastructure works including the hospital, powerhouse, and road construction, Ameeth noted that the only visible progress on the island is currently limited to a small jetty for dinghies.

Former Maduvvari MP Mohamed Ameeth has stated that as President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s administration marks its first year, the only development Gdh. Gadhdhoo has received is a small dinghy jetty, while all other development projects remain stalled.
Speaking on RaajjeTV’s "Vaudhunaama" program regarding the development of Vaadhoo, Ameeth stated that the current administration has awarded only two development projects to the island's residents.
He stated that the land was allocated for the construction of a police station and a youth center. However, Ameeth noted that neither of these projects has made any progress.
Progress on the police station has been so minimal that not even a basic fence has been erected. The site remains a mere excavation—a stagnant pool of water that has essentially become a breeding ground for mosquitoes. As for the youth center, a project awarded by this administration, the only visible progress is a single pillar within a fenced area. Despite this government entering its third year and nearly six months passing since these projects were awarded, the only work completed in that time is the installation of that solitary pillar.Mohamed Ameeth, the former Member of Parliament for the Maduvvari constituency.
Highlighting the road development project in Gadhdhoo, Ameeth stated that the initiative began during the previous administration, with approximately 95 percent of the work completed by the time their term ended. However, he noted that under the current government, asphalt has been laid on only about 200 feet of road so far.
Furthermore, Ameeth stated that the hospital project is one of the initiatives most closely linked to the aspirations of the people of Gadhdhoo. He noted that all financing arrangements for the project had been finalized during the previous administration. However, Ameeth highlighted that the current administration has yet to make any progress on the hospital project to date.
Referring to the powerhouse building, Ameeth stated that although 95 percent of the work had been completed during the MDP administration, the facility has since been left to fall into ruin.
By the time the government changed, no practical work had commenced on the project. During the campaign leading up to this administration taking office, President Muizzu made a significant pledge to the people of Gadhdhoo, promising to complete the construction of this hospital. However, as the administration approaches its third year, the only visible progress at the site is the installation of a perimeter fence. There is a complete lack of machinery, personnel, and the necessary resources required to move this major project forward. Currently, the work is being carried out by a few MTCC employees who are stationed in Gadhdhoo for the harbor project. These workers visit the site at night to perform whatever manual tasks they can without machinery. Despite these minor activities, the reality is that the project is at a standstill.Mohamed Ameeth, the former Member of Parliament for the Maduvvari constituency.
Amith noted that although the construction of several buildings for the Fenaka powerhouse in Gadhdhoo was nearly 90 percent complete during the MDP administration, the project has since stalled, leaving the structures to fall into disrepair.
Ameeth stated that the only project completed to date is the Gadhdhoo harbor development, noting that this project was awarded during the MDP administration and was approximately 80 percent complete before the current government took over. He further asserted that it would not be an exaggeration to say this administration has contributed nothing to Gadhdhoo’s development so far, adding that they have significantly neglected their pledges.
