Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, the top leader of the Maldives Democratic Party (MDP), has extended his greetings on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of the country’s main opposition party.
President Solih extended these greetings in a post on X, marking the anniversary of the MDP.
In his message, President Solih extended his sincere greetings and best wishes to the leadership and all beloved members of the MDP on the occasion of the party's anniversary.
He highlighted the significant role played by the MDP in bringing about major changes to the Maldivian political landscape. In this regard, President Solih noted that the MDP's strenuous efforts to secure political reforms and establish a true democracy in the Maldives are historical facts.
Former President Solih further stated that the MDP remains steadfast in its commitment to advocating for the rights of the people. He assured that the party’s future endeavors will continue to prioritize the best interests and welfare of the citizens.
It is noteworthy that the MDP was the first political party to be registered in the Maldives following the authorization to establish political parties in the country.
