MDP ranks reorganized; we will change President Muizzu's government: Nasheed
During a march held to conclude the campaign for the MDP chairperson election, President Mohamed Nasheed declared that the party would reassert its dominance and bring about a change in the current administration. He expressed confidence in a bright future for the party, citing the immense enthusiasm witnessed during campaign activities held across the islands and in Malé.

Former President Mohamed Nasheed, a candidate for the MDP chairpersonship, has declared that the party’s "Yellow Army" has been successfully mobilized once again. He asserted that by winning Friday’s election, the MDP will move to bring an end to the current administration.
Speaking at the conclusion of a march held Friday night to mark the end of the campaign, he stated that the MDP's resolve remains unbroken and asserted that the party would defeat and topple President Muizzu's administration.

Nasheed noted that the island streets were filled during the campaign activities. He further stated that the campaign is concluding with an event that will once again see the streets packed with supporters.
Nasheed stated that his campaign has successfully revitalized the spirit and energy of the party across the islands and the capital, Male'. He noted that the party's future would be secured if members cast their votes in his direction. Reflecting on the support received during campaign activities, the former President remarked that the movement has once again demonstrated the inherent strength and influence of the MDP.

Former President Mohamed Nasheed and Galolhu South MP Meekail Ahmed Naseem are the two candidates contesting for the position of Chairperson of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP). The election to appoint a chairperson for the main opposition party is ongoing, with voting open from 2:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
