Minister of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage, Adam Naseer Ibrahim | Presidents Office
Adam Naseer, who recently resigned as the Minister of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage, has been appointed as a Minister at the President's Office.
In response to inquiries from RaajjeMV, the government spokesperson confirmed that Adam Naseer has assumed his duties as the "Special Advisor on Dhivehi Language and National Identity." The spokesperson further clarified that this is a newly established position, confirming that it carries the rank of a cabinet minister.
Adam Naseer resigned from his ministerial post during a period when several cabinet members stepped down simultaneously at the President's request. Following his resignation, the ministry was renamed the Ministry of Arts, Culture, and Heritage, and Heena Waleed was appointed as the new minister to lead the office.
Upon resigning, Adam Naseer shared a poem highlighting the importance of self-reflection and personal reform rather than focusing on the faults of others. At the time, many observers suggested that the verses were a pointed critique aimed directly at President Muizzu.
The poem he shared in Arabic serves as a poignant reminder that while one may be quick to expose the flaws and mistakes of others, they must remember that they, too, are prone to error and possess their own inherent imperfections.
Furthermore, the poem highlights how some individuals may appear to be the most virtuous of people on the surface, while concealing a deeply sinister nature within.
Furthermore, the poem highlights those who disseminate religious rulings and offer counsel to others, yet persist in committing sins themselves without seeking repentance. It also asserts that some individuals addressed as "Sheikhs" or saints are, in reality, deeply immersed in corruption and wrongdoing.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has recently implemented significant changes to his cabinet. While some ministers who resigned during this reshuffle have been appointed as ambassadors, others have been assigned to various government positions at the ministerial level.
Despite the government's repeated assertions that efforts to downsize the state apparatus are in full swing, the current reality suggests otherwise, as new positions continue to be created and individuals are being appointed to various roles with high salaries. Meanwhile, ordinary citizens who were recruited into state-owned enterprises such as Fenaka ahead of the elections are now being dismissed from their jobs under various pretexts.
