Senior police officer accused of sexually abusing 16yo daughter!
Police are investigating a case involving the alleged sexual abuse of a 16-year-old girl by her biological father. Although the matter was reported in late May and several witness statements have been recorded, no arrests have been made in connection with the case so far.

An investigation has been launched into allegations that a veteran officer of the Maldives Police Service sexually assaulted his own daughter.
A reliable source has confirmed to RaajjeMV that the victim in this case is a 16-year-old girl. She has reportedly disclosed to several people close to her that she was sexually abused by her father.
The matter has now been reported to the police. RaajjeMV has learned that the case was officially filed with the authorities on May 31, 2026. Police have since recorded statements from the victim and several other individuals in connection with the investigation.
However, no arrests have been made in connection with the case so far. While police typically seek arrest warrants from the Criminal Court for suspects in such matters, it is understood that no such action has been taken in this instance to date.
When contacted by RaajjeMV for a comment on the matter, a police media official stated that a case involving the alleged sexual abuse of a minor by an individual in a position of trust was reported to the authorities on June 1, 2026. The police further confirmed that the suspect in this case is a police officer.
A police media official further stated that the Family and Child Protection Department is currently conducting a criminal investigation into the matter, while the Professional Standards Command is reviewing administrative issues concerning the officer involved.
