A 14-year-old boy who was critically injured after being electrocuted in L. Gan has been medically evacuated to Male' for further treatment.
The incident reportedly occurred late Tuesday night during preparations for the upcoming Eid festivities.
Police reported that they received a report of a 14-year-old boy being electrocuted in Gan around 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday night. The child has been receiving treatment at the L. Gan Regional Hospital since the incident occurred.
According to reports, the child was electrocuted while attempting to draw power from a roadside distribution box to a board cable.
Police stated that the child, whose condition remains serious, was brought to Male' for further treatment at approximately 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday after initially being treated on a ventilator at Gan Regional Hospital.
Details regarding the child's current condition and the extent of the injuries sustained have not yet been disclosed.
Police stated that the matter is under further investigation.
