Police attend incident where a speedboat carrying National Service Program participants began taking on water after its hull was breached
The Marine Police have launched a rescue operation after a speedboat traveling from Lh. Maafilaafushi to Male' sustained a hull breach and began to sink. While social media footage shows the vessel partially submerged with numerous passengers in life jackets awaiting rescue in the water, authorities have yet to confirm any injuries. Two police vessels are currently on-site conducting emergency assistance.

Marine Police have launched an emergency response following an incident where a speedboat, traveling to Male' with students who had completed their National Service training in Lh. Maafilaafushi, sustained a hull breach.
According to the police, the incident occurred when a speedboat traveling from Maafilaafushi to Male' sustained a hull breach.
Videos circulating on social media show the speedboat partially submerged after its hull was breached. The footage depicts numerous passengers stranded in the open sea, kept afloat by their life jackets.
Police stated that upon receiving the report of the incident, two Marine Police launches were dispatched to the scene to initiate rescue operations. It remains unclear whether anyone sustained injuries during the incident.
